Over time, he became known more for public controversies, including a tell-all book and legal issues that drew media attention. Despite the ups and downs, he later expressed regret for some choices and attempted to rebuild his public image. In early 2021, Diamond was diagnosed with stage 4 small-cell carcinoma and passed away just weeks later at age 44. His former castmates publicly paid tribute to him, remembering his unique presence and contribution to the show’s legacy.
